Soccer Recap: New Manna Christian Takes a Loss

If New Manna Christian was feeling good fresh off their 8-2 takedown of Southview Christian on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wind lost 5-2 to the Asheboro Hybrid Academy Warriors on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to New Manna Christian of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Nick Garner and Neko Shirley scored both of New Manna Christian's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

New Manna Christian's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season.

New Manna Christian and Asheboro Hybrid Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Wind see the pitch they'll take on Rockwell Christian School at 4:00 p.m. on the 13th. As for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, their break will end when they face Community Baptist at 4:00 p.m. on the 10th.
