Basketball Recap: Frewsburg Continues Home Dominance on Friday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Frewsburg had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against the Cassadaga Valley Cougars as they made off with a 70-50 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won seven in a row.

Frewsburg's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jadyn Trocki, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 assists. Trocki is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played. Ava Jimerson was another key player, shooting 67% from the field en route to 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Frewsburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 14 consecutive matchups.

Frewsburg's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. As for Cassadaga Valley, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 17-5 record.

Frewsburg has already played their next game, a 50-47 win against Randolph on the 5th. Cassadaga Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
