Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Lions vs. Sheridan Spartans

The Jefferson Lions will square off against the Sheridan Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Wednesday, Jefferson came up short against Scio and fell 79-71. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (57), the Lions still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sheridan). They enjoyed a cozy 71-55 win over Willamina on Wednesday.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Sheridan, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 5-9.

Jefferson was able to grind out a solid win over Sheridan in their previous meeting on Tuesday, winning 57-48. Does Jefferson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sheridan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
