Mount Tahoma hasn't had much luck against North Thurston recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The T-Birds will venture away from home to face off against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Mount Tahoma has given up an average of 12.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Mount Tahoma is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Timberline, falling 24-1.
Meanwhile, North Thurston entered their tilt with Bellarmine Prep on Friday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Lions 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.
David Perez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Perez was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Jaylen Kennedy was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kole French, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
North Thurston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellarmine Prep only posted an OBP of .320.
North Thurston pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Mount Tahoma, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
Mount Tahoma suffered a grim 15-3 defeat to North Thurston in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can the T-Birds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
