South Salem is 8-2 against Sprague since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Saxons will venture away from home to challenge the Olympians at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (South Salem 3.6, Sprague 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

South Salem is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Central just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Saxons, who until this matchup were averaging 3.58 runs allowed.

Kyle Argue and Sawyer Nelson did some serious damage despite the final result: Argue went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Nelson went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Wyatt Timmerman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Sprague came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Skyhawks as they made off with a 17-4 win. The Olympians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Sprague's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for South Salem, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

South Salem skirted past Sprague 15-14 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saxons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
