Softball Recap: Mar Vista Mariners vs. Helix Highlanders
Mar Vista extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 4-12 in the process. They fell 8-4 to the Helix Highlanders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Highlanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-5 back in February.
As for Helix, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.
For Helix's part, Ta'Tiannah Wright was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Nikaylah Domingo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mar Vista will challenge Bayfront Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
