Basketball Recap: Ty Tjepkema's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Santa Fe over Iowa Colony

Santa Fe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Iowa Colony Pioneers, falling 72-46. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-50 back in December of 2024.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ty Tjepkema, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Bryler Davidson, who scored six points.

Santa Fe's defeat dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Iowa Colony, their win bumped their record up to 19-10.

Santa Fe will head out to face off against La Porte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Aidan Jewell and Trent Callies. As for Iowa Colony, they will host Angleton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Iowa Colony's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
