Oxon Hill strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Douglass Eagles a 24-0 shutout. 24 seems to be a good number for the Clippers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Kennedy Woodruff made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, four runs, and two stolen bases while going 4-for-4.

In other batting news, Akira Wilkerson was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and four runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Sydney Carter was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Oxon Hill pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Douglass, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Oxon Hill and Douglass will both be playing Crossland the next time they take the field. The Clippers will host the Cavaliers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on May 5.
