Softball Recap: Monterey Trail Mustangs vs. Inderkum Tigers
Monterey Trail's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Inderkum Tigers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.
Sophia Coronado was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only a hit over four innings pitched. Coronado was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aniyah Whipper, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Graciela Medrano, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Monterey Trail was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Inderkum only posted a batting average of .172.
