Baseball Recap: Albion Takes a Loss

Albion lost to Royalton-Hartland back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Purple Eagles fell just short of the Rams by a score of 5-4. The Purple Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nathan Gibson put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Gavin Boyce was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Albion's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Royalton-Hartland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

While Albion had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
