Baseball Recap: Murphy Takes a Loss

Murphy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 9-2 to the Blount Leopards. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Leopards this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 on Tuesday.

Nicholas Thomas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. That hit was his first of the season.

Murphy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Blount, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-5.

Coming up, Murphy will challenge McGill-Toolen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. McGill-Toolen's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Murphy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Blount, they will face off against Monroe County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
