Volleyball Game Preview: Pine River-Backus Tigers vs. Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Wolves

The Pine River-Backus Tigers will head out to challenge the Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Wolves at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine River-Backus will be strutting in after a win while Walker-Hackensack-Akeley will be coming in after a loss.

Pine River-Backus took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Northome/Kelliher. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Walker-Hackensack-Akeley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Nevis.

Pine River-Backus' victory bumped their record up to 17-9. As for Walker-Hackensack-Akeley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.

Pine River-Backus took their win against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
