Ansonia is a perfect 9-0 against Oxford since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Chargers will look to defend their home field against the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Ansonia came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Woodland Regional, falling 28-7. The contest marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Oxford played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 40-20 to Torrington. The Wolverines were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.

Ansonia will need to focus on slowing down Ethan Murray, one of several Oxford players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 218 yards and one TD. Trent Therriault helped Murray out on the ground, rushing for 50 yards and one score, while also picking up 66 receiving yards.

Ansonia's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Oxford, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Everything came up roses for Ansonia against Oxford when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 42-0 win. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
