Baseball Recap: Pawnee Black Bears vs. Cashion Wildcats
Pawnee lost against Cashion back in April of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Black Bears came up short against the Wildcats, falling 18-4. The Black Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
William DeShields was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-1. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Jace Higgins was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Pawnee's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Cashion, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-1.
Looking ahead, Pawnee will head out to square off against Blackwell at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Maroons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.13 runs per game on average), something the Black Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cashion, they will venture away from home to face off against Depew at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
