There's no place like home for Los Altos, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the El Rancho Dons on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Conquerors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Diego Ortiz was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Miguel Arroyo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

The victory got Los Altos back to even at 2-2. As for El Rancho, they dropped their record down to 3-3 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Los Altos will challenge Downey at 3:14 p.m. on Monday. As for El Rancho, they will square off against Aquinas at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. El Rancho's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Aquinas' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
