Volleyball Recap: Trinity Trojans vs. Independence Blue Devils
After flying high against Richmond Heights on Monday, Trinity came back down to earth. The Trojans lost 3-0 to the Independence Blue Devils on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 8th.
The final score came out to 25-9, 25-10, 25-8.
Julia Jurkiewicz had an outrageously good game for Independence as she had 21 assists and six aces. That's the most aces Jurkiewicz has posted since back in August.
Trinity has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Independence, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Trinity will take on Richmond Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Independence, they will square off against Padua Franciscan at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
