Baseball Recap: Gulf Coast's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Gulf Coast was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Island Coast on Tuesday. Gulf Coast blew past Island Coast 8-2. For the Sharks, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Gators walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Colton Schlief tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Gulf Coast got a big performance out of Jackson Geiger, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Alain (AJ) Condomina was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Gulf Coast's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8. As for Island Coast, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-5.

Coming up, Gulf Coast will venture away from home to face off against Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Island Coast, they will host Miami Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
