Thornton Fractional North took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Warren Township with a sharp 54-29 win. The Meteors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Yorkville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 65-59 to Libertyville. While losing is never fun, the Foxes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Wildcats are ranked 33rd).

Yorkville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Thornton Fractional North, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
