Basketball Recap: Clay-Chalkville Comes Up Short

Clay-Chalkville came up into this matchup off a tough 31-point loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Gardendale Rockets by a score of 51-49 on Thursday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rockets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Clay-Chalkville's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-9. As for Gardendale, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clay-Chalkville will take on Midfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gardendale, they will face off against Springville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
