Soledad and Carmel are an even 4-4-2 against one another since January of 2016, but likely not for long. The Aztecs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Padres at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Soledad is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Last Friday, Soledad had just enough and edged out Monte Vista Christian 3-2. Given Soledad's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while Monte Vista Christian are ranked 713th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Carmel unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Monday. Neither they nor Monte Vista Christian could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The result kept Carmel happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 20th.

Carmel's draw makes their record 10-4-3 this season. As for Soledad, their win bumped their record up to 8-2-3.

Soledad beat Carmel by a goal in their previous meeting back in January, winning 3-2. Will the Aztecs repeat their success, or do the Padres have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
