Basketball Game Preview: Buford Yellow Jackets vs. McBee Panthers

The Buford Yellow Jackets will venture away from home to challenge the McBee Panthers at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Buford is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Buford is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Cuthbertson on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Buford was beaten by Cuthbertson 72-29. The matchup marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, McBee didn't have quite enough to beat Richmond on Saturday and fell 60-57. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 111th in South Carolina, while the Raiders are ranked 335th in North Carolina).

Buford's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for McBee, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.

Buford beat McBee 60-51 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Will Buford repeat their success, or does McBee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
