Basketball Game Preview: Maryvale Panthers vs. South Mountain Jaguars

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Panthers duke it out with the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Maryvale's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Maryvale beat Camelback 77-73.

Meanwhile, South Mountain was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 67-63 to Browne. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maryvale is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points over those games. As for South Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 6-18.

Everything went Maryvale's way against South Mountain in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Maryvale made off with a 52-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Maryvale since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
