Basketball Preview: Antwerp Archers vs. Montpelier Locomotives
Antwerp has been on the road for two straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Montpelier Locomotives at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Last Thursday, Antwerp suffered a rough 48-25 defeat at the hands of the Pilots. While losing is never fun, Antwerp can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 418th, while the Pilots are ranked 100th).
Meanwhile, Montpelier narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Blackbirds 32-30.
Antwerp has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Montpelier, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
Antwerp strolled past the Locomotives in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 43-25. Will Antwerp repeat their success, or do the Locomotives have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
