Softball Recap: Flat Rock Picks Up Seventh Straight Win on the Road

Flat Rock came out on top against Riverview on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Rams blew past the Pirates 9-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Rams have posted against the Pirates since May 9, 2022.

Vanessa Neace was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Ashlin Woodman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Sarah Giroux was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Flat Rock pushed their record up to 11-11 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Riverview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-5-1.

Flat Rock has already played their next game, a 9-8 loss against St. Mary's Prep on the 8th. As for Riverview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 12-0 win against Jefferson on the 8th.
