Softball Recap: Waldport Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Waldport won the last time they faced East Linn Christian Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Irish walked away with a 17-12 victory over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Irish.

Katlyn Morton was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Savannah Martin, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Waldport pushed their record up to 6-13 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.3 runs over those games. As for East Linn Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Coming up, Waldport will head out to challenge Myrtle Point at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for East Linn Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Crow at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
