Kamiah hasn't had much luck against Kendrick recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Kubs are taking a road trip to challenge the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated (Kamiah has five wins , while Kendrick has 11 dating back to last season).
Kamiah is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Clearwater Valley, who was ranked 19th at the time (Kamiah was ranked second). The Kubs never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 54-0 win last Friday. The matchup marked the Kubs' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Kamiah's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lawson Landmark, who threw for 220 yards and five touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 81 yards and one TD on only seven carries. Landmark got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 52 yards. Todd Roberts was in the mix as well, providing Kamiah with three scores.
Kamiah's run defense was locked in: Clearwater Valley could only muster 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Dillon Lockart for the heroic effort on defense: he. Kamiah didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 12.8.
Kamiah's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Rylan Skinner and Lockart, who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Kendrick's rock-solid defense showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Potlatch 68-0. Fans of the Tigers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
Kamiah better focus on containing Tanner Clemenhagen and Ralli Roetcisoender as the pair were huge in Kendrick's win. Clemenhagen rushed for 171 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries, while Roetcisoender gained 173 total yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Orion Stewart, who rushed for 76 yards and one touchdown.
Kamiah's record now sits at 5-0. As for Kendrick, their record is now 6-0.
Kamiah was dealt a bruising 58-14 defeat at the hands of Kendrick when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Kubs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
