Baseball Recap: Fleming Comes Up Short

Fleming was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 35th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 12-2 to the Patrick Henry Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 on April 5th.

Fleming saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aronde Phillips, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs.

Fleming's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Patrick Henry, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fleming will head out to challenge Martinsville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Patrick Henry, they will venture away from home to take on Christiansburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots are facing the Blue Demons at the right time seeing as the Blue Demons are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
