Softball Recap: Percy Julian Comes Up Short

Percy Julian fell victim to Stanhope Elmore and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 15-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Phoenix in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost six in a row.

Percy Julian's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Stanhope Elmore, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-13.

Looking ahead, Percy Julian will challenge Park Crossing at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Thunderbirds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.25 runs per game on average), something the Phoenix will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Stanhope Elmore, they will head out on the road to challenge Chilton County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
