Overton is a perfect 3-0 against Chapel Hill since February of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Overton Mustangs will take on the Chapel Hill Bulldogs in a tournament on Saturday. Overton will be strutting in after a win while Chapel Hill will be coming in after a defeat.

Overton barely beat LaPoynor the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Overton never let LaPoynor get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Thursday. Considering the Mustangs have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Rylan Holleman made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Holleman was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryson Bobbitt, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Bryce Still, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Overton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as LaPoynor only posted an OBP of .238.

Meanwhile, Chapel Hill didn't have quite enough to beat Arp on Friday and fell 5-4.

Chapel Hill saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chandler Lawson, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. The dominant performance gave Lawson a new career-high in RBI.

Overton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. Chapel Hill has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Overton skirted past Chapel Hill 5-3 in their previous matchup last Thursday. Will Overton repeat their success, or does Chapel Hill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
