Soccer Game Preview: Regina vs. Notre Dame Prep

Regina will head out to face off against the Notre Dame Prep Fighting Irish at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Regina put up the most goals they have all season on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over Lutheran North. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Regina with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame Prep kept a clean sheet against Academy of the Sacred Heart on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Gazelles with a sharp 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Notre Dame Prep, who have now won eight matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Notre Dame Prep has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those eight games. As for Regina, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5-6.

Regina came out on top in a nail-biter against Notre Dame Prep in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will Regina repeat their success, or does Notre Dame Prep has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
