Basketball Recap: Deer Park Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Deer Park can now relate to. They were beaten by the Summer Creek Bulldogs 73-29 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Deer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 46th).

Deer Park's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Blayke Carter, who posted six points, and Audrina Silva, who earned four points. That's the most points Carter has posted since back in December of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Deer Park and nudges their season record down to 17-17. As for Summer Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a massive bump to their 25-11 record this season.

Deer Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Summer Creek, they will face off against Pearland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Pearland sitting on four straight wins and Summer Creek on five.
