The biggest upset of the week belonged to Kenton, who took down 39th ranked Celina, 46-42. Grant Sherman threw for 451 yards and six touchdowns and ran for 32 yards in the win.
Bath moved up to 208 from 251 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Western Buckeye. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of falling to Elida 42-20.
Doug Sanders was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 156 yards on 24 carries as Bath topped the Bulldogs.
Sawmiller was the best wideout in the league this week as Kenton defeated Celina. Sawmiller tallied 19 receptions for 276 yards. Kollin Stollar helped Kenton's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 95 yards.
Cody Schuerman made the biggest impact on defense this week as Chris Miller's team lost to the Bulldogs. The 5-foot-6 senior pulled down one interception.
Mike Mauk's team's Sherman and Sawmiller have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Western Buckeye in both passing and receiving yards. Sherman has thrown for 3283 yards this season, while Sawmiller, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 107 catches for 1622 yards. The Wildcats' Sanders leads the league in rushing yards with 1006.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Elida takes on Jared Rolfes' team. Jason Carpenter's team is in second place, while the Bulldogs are in third place.
Wapakoneta was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. The Redskins defeated Van Wert 35-0 earlier in the week.
