Recap: Hooper Academy Colts vs. Edgewood Academy Wildcats
The Hooper Academy Colts lost against the Edgewood Academy Wildcats back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Hooper Academy fell to Edgewood Academy 48-44.
Edgewood Academy was led to victory by Lexie Smith and Lindsey Brown. Smith scored 16 points along with four steals, while Brown scored 24 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The match was Brown's 23rd in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Madison Martin, who scored two points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.
Hooper Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Edgewood Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hooper Academy will face off against Autauga Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Autauga Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday. As for Edgewood Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Evangel Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Evangel Christian will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
