Basketball Game Preview: Fox Creek Predators vs. Swansea Tigers

The Fox Creek Predators will take on the Swansea Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fox Creek has three straight victories, Swansea has 35 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Fox Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Newberry, but they still walked away with a 60-54 win.

Fox Creek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kobe Sims out in front who posted 18 points and four steals. The contest was Sims' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brelan Baskett, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Swansea played a tough match last Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Keenan 95-24. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Swansea saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zyshawn Jamison scored nine points. That was a full 37.5% of Swansea's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points.

Swansea's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Fox Creek, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.

This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Fox Creek hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 61 points per game. It's a different story for Swansea, though, as they've been averaging only 36 points. The only thing between Fox Creek and another offensive beatdown is Swansea. Will they be able to keep them contained?

Fox Creek strolled past Swansea in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 by a score of 53-35. Will Fox Creek repeat their success, or does Swansea have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
