Baseball Game Preview: Robertson County Black Devils vs. Newport Wildcats

Robertson County is on an eight-game streak of home losses, and Newport a 28-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Robertson County Black Devils will welcome the Newport Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Robertson County fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Menifee County on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 6-5.

Eli Stines was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Jullian Pollitt also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Newport's offense. They lost 10-0 to Bellevue on Thursday.

Newport's loss dropped their record down to 0-36. As for Robertson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-23.

Everything went Robertson County's way against Newport in their previous meeting back in March, as Robertson County made off with a 14-0 victory. Do the Black Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
