Basketball Game Preview: Camelback Spartans vs. Maryvale Panthers

Camelback is on a seven-game streak of home losses, Maryvale a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Wednesday. The Camelback Spartans will host the Maryvale Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Maryvale took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Camelback, who comes in off a win.

Camelback is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 39-37 victory over Browne on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Maryvale was beaten by Rincon/University 66-9 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Rangers are ranked 95th).

Maryvale's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Camelback, their victory bumped their record up to 3-13.

Camelback didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Maryvale in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 41-37 win.
