Basketball Recap: Chase Takes a Loss

Chase was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Chesnee Eagles and fell 96-62. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 84-39 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

It was another big night for Ben Reese, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points for Chesnee. Those 26 points gave Reese a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Brown, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists.

Chase's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Chesnee, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Chase has already played their next game (against East Rutherford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Chesnee and Brashier Middle College Charter will face off at 7:45 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Chesnee is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.3 points per game this season.
