Volleyball Recap: CORE Butte Falls Despite Big Games from Zoe Newton and Macey Ascherman + How To Watch

CORE Butte managed to slip by Hamilton the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lynx came up short against the Braves on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Lynx were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While CORE Butte was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-14, 25-15.

CORE Butte's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Macey Ascherman, who had four digs and one block, and Zoe Newton, who had eight digs. Ascherman has been hot, having also posted 15 or more assists the last eight times she's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, CORE Butte fell to 2-1. As for Hamilton, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

CORE Butte wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Williams on the 4th. As for Hamilton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Live Oak on the 28th.
