Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Moreau Catholic's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Moreau Catholic's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Washington Huskies 6-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lexi Mejia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Jossi Jones was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Alyvia Sifuentes-Parker, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Moreau Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Washington, they dropped their record down to 6-12 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.
