Preview: Tift County Blue Devils vs. Westover Patriots
Tift County and Westover are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Tift County Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Westover Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tift County will be looking to keep their 18-game home win streak alive.
Tift County stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 82-18 victory over Houston County at home. Given Tift County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Houston County is ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Westover scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 68-47 margin over Shaw. The score was close at the half, but Westover pulled away in the second half with 40 points.
Tift County's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Westover, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Everything came up roses for Tift County against Westover in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 62-23 victory. Will Tift County repeat their success, or does Westover have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
