Basketball Recap: Grassfield Drops Season-High Score on Deep Creek

Grassfield scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 91-83 to the Deep Creek Hornets. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (67), the Grizzlies still had to take the loss.

Grassfield's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grant Worley, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 14 rebounds. Worley's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jacey Lewis, who went 9 of 20 en route to 29 points and six boards.

Grassfield's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Deep Creek, with the victory, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grassfield will challenge Great Bridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Grassfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Deep Creek has already played their next match (against Western Branch), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
