Baseball Game Preview: ThunderRidge Grizzlies vs. Legacy Lightning

ThunderRidge hasn't had much luck against Legacy recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The ThunderRidge Grizzlies will head out to face off against the Legacy Lightning at 1:00 p.m. ThunderRidge will be strutting in after a win while Legacy will be coming in after a loss.

ThunderRidge gave up the first runs last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over Columbine. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzlies.

The team relied heavily on Kyle Zebroski, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Legacy had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Valor Christian by a score of 9-7. The Lightning have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Chase Hoelting made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jack Schoenheider, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one triple.

ThunderRidge couldn't quite get it done against Legacy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 8-3. Can ThunderRidge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
