Basketball Recap: Texas Institute Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Texas Institute entered their tilt with Grace Christian on Saturday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Grace Christian Eagles with a sharp 65-43 victory. Texas Institute has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 games by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Texas Institute to victory were Chris Bateman and Caden Young. Bateman went 5-for-8 on his way to 17 points, while Young went 7-for-14 to rack up 23 points. What's more, Bateman also posted two assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Rico Hernandez was another key player, putting up six points.

Texas Institute's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points over those games. As for Grace Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Coming up, Texas Institute will challenge Victory Prep at 9:30 a.m. on Monday. Texas Institute has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Grace Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
