Softball Recap: Powdersville Victorious

Powdersville posted their closest victory since April 16, 2024 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Mountain View Prep Stars 7-5.

Kylie Powell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kensley Vicars, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Bree Woods, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Powdersville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.2 runs over those games. As for Mountain View Prep, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-9.

Powdersville has already played their next game, a 12-1 victory against St. Joseph's Catholic on the 15th. As for Mountain View Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 loss against Union County on the 15th.
