Baseball Recap: Vista Del Lago Has No Trouble Against Cathedral City

Vista del Lago never got on the board in their matchup last Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Cathedral City on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Cathedral City Lions with a sharp 10-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Ravens, who have now won three games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Billy Cervantes looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rocky Mendoza, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Evan Kosonoy, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Vista del Lago always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cathedral City only posted an OBP of .381.

Vista del Lago now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Cathedral City, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vista del Lago will take on Twentynine Palms at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cathedral City, they will square off against Coachella Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Coachella Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Cathedral City's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
