Volleyball Recap: Mt. Pleasant's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Mt. Pleasant saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Imlay City Spartans. The loss put an end to the Oilers' undefeated start to the season.

Mt. Pleasant was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20.

Morgan Borodychuk paced Mt. Pleasant's offense, picking up seven kills. Borodychuk got some help from Abigail Webster and her 17 assists. Borodychuk was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mt. Pleasant fell to 2-1-1. As for Imlay City, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Mt. Pleasant will venture away from home to square off against DeWitt at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Imlay City, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Brown City at 5:00 p.m. on September 3.
