Basketball Recap: Three Straight Home Victories for Broadwater Academy

Broadwater Academy had won two straight home games and Leah Smith did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The Broadwater Academy Vikings took down the Atlantic Shores Christian Seahawks 35-20 thanks in part to Smith, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 blocks per game.

Another player making a difference was Kacey Ford, who posted ten points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (three).

Broadwater Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broadwater Academy will face off against Isle of Wight Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Atlantic Shores Christian has already played their next match (against Hampton Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
