East Carteret strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past New Bern Christian Academy 10-0. The Mariners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

Tanner Wade was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Jonathan Piner was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024. Jacob Grimm was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

East Carteret always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Bern Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .211.

East Carteret's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-0. As for New Bern Christian Academy, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Carteret will venture away from home to square off against Havelock at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for New Bern Christian Academy, they will square off against Jacksonville Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Bern Christian Academy are facing the Conquerors at the right time seeing as the Conquerors are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
