Basketball Recap: Marshwood Triumphs

While Marshwood didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They escaped with a win on Saturday against the Gray-New Gloucester Patriots by the margin of a single free throw, 56-55. For the Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 76-48 victory the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Marshwood is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Gray-New Gloucester, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Marshwood and Biddeford will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on December 30th. As for Gray-New Gloucester, they will take on Edward Little at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
