Soccer Game Preview: Washington vs. Dubuque Senior

The Washington Warriors will face off against the Dubuque Senior Rams on Friday. Washington's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Tuesday, Washington came up short against Iowa City and fell 3-1. That's two games in a row now that Washington have lost by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Dubuque Senior's offense. They lost 3-0 to Iowa City West last Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Dubuque Senior can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Iowa City West are ranked 34th).

Dubuque Senior's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-9-2. As for Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-17.

Washington suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Dubuque Senior in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
